BC Food Systems Networking

An example of a healthy food system, small-scale sweet corn

The BC Food Systems Network now supports a number of listservs for the discussion of various aspects of food security around BC. Some of these listservs are focused on the concerns of specific bioregions within BC; some are focused on topics of special interest and have a province-wide reach.

An example of a bioregional listserv is the 100milefood list, which concerns itself with all aspects of food security relevant to folks in the South Cariboo region. An example of a special-interest listserv is the ifs list, which concerns itself with all aspects of indigenous food sovereignty throughout BC (and beyond).

Some of you who are subscribed to one listserv might be interested in subscribing to one or more of the other listservs listed below. All we ask is that you respect the general guidelines on listserv etiquette, and that you respect the specific focus of any listserv you subscribe to. In all cases, you are welcome to contact the listserv's administrator if you have questions. Note that, with the exception of the members listserv, our listservs are open to all interested people, regardless of whether or not they are members of the BC Food Systems Network. In some cases you can subscribe immediately; in other cases, the listserv administrator must approve your request to subscribe.

Supporting these listservs is one way we're helping to facilitate networking and conversations about food security all around BC. If anyone you know might be interested in participating in one or more of these listservs, please pass this information along. If you have a suggestion for a new listserv, please contact us.

Please support the work of the Network. We have operated successfully for over a decade based solely on the efforts of many volunteers and the money we raise through memberships and donations. We support people in their efforts to foster healthy food systems and well-fed community members across the province. Please consider making a donation to the BC Food Systems Network. Donations can be made by sending cash or cheque through the postal mail (see our Contact Us page for the address) or by using the Donation button here:
